The Ghost Rider Buckle was carved in the 1970's, inspired by the 1976 American Bicentennial and subsequent revival of all things Americana. A wave of Nostalgia for the old West hit New York - cowboy boots were everywhere in the streets, mechanical bulls in every bar. This was great news to Alex, a fan of cowboys and Western wear from a very young age. A rugged yet lightweight piece, the Ghost Rider buckle is Alex's homage to an old cowboy folk song, which tells of a demon heard of cattle being chased across the sky by the spirits of eternally damned cowboys.
