In fact, Alex created many of the props and costumes for this movie, including various pieces of jewelry to be worn by the Mermaids. These include the iconic "Mermaid Earrings", as well as the "Fishbone collection" - a series of articulated fish "skeletons" reimagined as bracelets and necklaces.
While most of the footage has been lost to the sands of time, these beautiful sculptural pieces remain as a tribute to Alex's fantasy of a life spent at sea.
