Timeless Watch

A surrealist rendering of the Famous Cartier Tank Watch, the Timeless Watch was originally carved in the 1980's as a "perplexing status object". Set with a single sapphire on the dial, this ironic melting watch offered a subversive commentary on the rampant greed and conspicuous consumption of the Material Girl Era. A non-watch that dictated no deadlines, and indeed did not count any seconds, minutes or hours. Today this piece takes on another meaning as we enter a new decade of uncertainty...

Although it was created almost 40 years ago, the Timeless Watch feels like the perfect metaphor for our times. During quarantine the days have blended into weeks, weeks into months and all of a sudden it's almost July...

This watch serves as a silver reminder to always live in the Eternal Now.
Time, after all, is simply what you make of it.

Sterling silver set with sapphire on crocodile grain die-struck leather band.
