Ouroboros Ring
The image of a serpent or dragon biting its own tail is one of oldest ancient symbols, first appearing in the tomb of King Tut as part of the Book of the Dead. In the western world it is known to us as the Ouroboros - Greek for “Tail Devourer”. The Ouroboros is an emblem that can be found around the world, most commonly symbolizing eternity and rebirth. The snake eating itself portrays the cyclical nature of the universe - creation from destruction, life out of death.
Alex was introduced to the idea of the Great World Snake by Jack Kerouac, and subsequently carved up his own unique rendition. This creature crawls straight from the petroglyphs of ancient drawings - a skeletal serpent with a pointed spine and a little skull. Alex’s Ouroboros serves as a reminder that time is a wheel, and there is always a new day just around the corner... Seize it & remember to enjoy this moment - for the times they are a-changin'.
