As a child growing up in Manhattan, Alex often spent his weekends roaming the halls of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. One of his favorite areas was the Egyptian Wing, full of mummies and artifacts that would provide inspiration for many years to come. The Ancient Egyptians considered the Scarab to be a sacred creature, a symbol of rebirth and regeneration.
