The Sea Monster Ring depicts the image of a stylized siren-like creature taken from details found at the stunning indoor pool of the  famous Hearst Castle in California. This incredible mansion was built by newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst in the early 20th century, and today operates as a museum. The pool, known as the "Roman Pool" is filled with gold and blue tiles that feature traditional marine monster themes that can be found in ancient Roman baths...

This ring is part of a series the Hearst estate commissioned Alex to carve, which had a limited edition run at the Hearst Castle Gift shop.
