The Ventilator series was dreamed up during a particularly brutal New York City heatwave in the late 1980’s. While New Yorkers battled melting asphalt and hazy humidity, Alex sat down at his jeweler’s bench and decided to take action. The Wrist and Ear Ventilators emerged, designed to keep the wearer “cool”.  Certainly to be categorized as “statement pieces”,  the Ventilators are a mixture of pure science fiction and the sculptural chrome details found on vintage cars.
