Alex Streeter moved to the Haight Ashbury in 1967 during the famous Hippie “Summer of Love”, where he began selling hand-painted wooden talismans and necklaces with the Flying Heart motif. Within a few years he would return to his native NYC and open up one of the first stores in Soho, known at the time as Hell’s Hundred Acres. The Summer of Love Necklace is a reissue of the Classic Flying Heart Necklace, commemorating the 50th year Anniversary of the Summer of Love. Alex’s classic hallmark, the target, can be found on the inside of the heart.
