Whirlpool Ring

The Whirlpool ring is one of Alex's earliest carvings dating back to the early 70's. Alex has always been fascinated with water, and grew up building miniature sail ships and "sailing" them at the Boathouse lake in Central Park. The beautiful scroll detail is inspired by the swirling waves of the ocean that are created as a ship cuts through the water.
